Hi there! My name is Kamela and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I hold a Master of Science Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph.
I recognize that in life we all go through difficult moments and phases which can challenge us and make us feel overwhelmed. During such times the usual coping strategies we rely on may no longer be enough in ensuring that we are not just surviving in life but also thriving. I have seen through first hand experience the impact a strong therapeutic relationship can have on improving the quality of a person's life. I will work with you during sessions to process concerns you are experiencing, identify barriers which are getting in the way of achieving your goals and explore healthier ways to cope with life's stressors .
Online and In Person
I am currently seeing clients in person in both the Guelph and Mississuaga area. I also offer online psychotherapy sessions. This is so that my services are accessible to clients regardless of where they live. I have been highly selective in choosing a private and confidential video conferencing service that has an encrypted connection and is both PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) compliant. All you need on your end is an internet connection!
Availability: In order to make it easy for you to access psychotherapy services, I offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
Meet with me one on one to address and manage unhelpful thoughts, feelings and habits that may be having a negative impact on your self worth and self esteem. We will work together to explore barriers and help you gain a better sense of self in order to attain personal growth and meet your goals.
Lets face it, family relationships can be complicated! During sessions we will meet together to discuss concerns family members may be having and the impact on each member of the family. The goals of sessions will be to ensure that family members are feeling heard and better understand one another in order to enhance the wellbeing of the individual and family unit.
Whether you've just started a new relationship or have been in one for years, it is normal to experience conflict and run into unhealthy patterns of behaviour. Together we will work towards enhancing communication, building trust and identifying healthy ways to approach marital/relational conflict.
