About Me

Hi there! My name is Kamela and I am a Registered Psychotherapist  with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I hold a Master of Science Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. 

I recognize that in life we all go through difficult moments and phases which can challenge us and make us feel overwhelmed. During such times the usual coping strategies we rely on may no longer be enough in ensuring that we are not just surviving in life but also thriving. I have seen through first hand experience the impact a strong therapeutic relationship can have on improving the quality of a person's life. I will work with you during sessions to process concerns you are experiencing, identify barriers that are getting in the way of achieving your goals and explore healthier ways to cope with life's stressors .  


What is Psychotherapy? How can it help me? 

Psychotherapy or "talk therapy" is the process of working with a skilled therapist who uses evidence based interventions.  A good therapist can help you deal with difficult feelings, build self-awareness, and change unhealthy behaviour patterns to help you cope with difficulties and work towards meeting your goals.

Sessions are Available In-Person, Online and Over the Phone:

I am currently seeing clients in person in the city of Guelph. In order to make my services accessible to clients throughout the province of Ontario, I also offer online (video) and over the phone psychotherapy sessions .



Video Sessions:

I have been highly selective in choosing a private and confidential video conferencing service that has an encrypted connection and is both PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) compliant. All you need on your end is an internet connection! 

Phone Sessions:

For clients who may not have access to video sessions online or who do not have privacy to do video sessions in their home, I offer phone sessions. In this way clients can call me while they are out for a walk, at a park, or sitting in their car. 

Note: The same ethical and confidentiality guidelines that apply for in-person counselling apply for e-counselling as well.



In order to make it easy for you to access psychotherapy services, I offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
